PCI T1/E1 WAN connectivity
RICHARDSON, Texas - April 12th, 2004 - Odin TeleSystems Inc., a Richardson-based communications technology company, introduces low cost PC based PCI T1/E1 WAN connectivity platform, Sleipnir-1-PCI-Plus. "Sleipnir-1-PCI-Plus PC WAN adapter facilitates easy WAN connectivity over a T1 or E1 line eliminating the need for dedicated router and CSU/DSU units resulting in significant cost savings," said Mr. Hanz Johansson Odin's President and Chief Executive Officer. Sleipnir-1-PCI-Plus features a 32-bit bus mastering DMA, single span T1/E1, integrated DSU/CSU and fractional T1 in a single PCI slot. With Sleipnir, network integrators can now leverage the advantage of easy installation and maintenance. Sleipnir-1-PCI-Plus is offered with a Microsoft NDIS network driver for Windows. A Linux based network driver is in the works. Sleipnir-1-PCI-Plus also features an optional onboard DSP, a powerful Texas Instruments TMS320VC5510 with 400MIPS that could be used for running speific algorithms such as data encryption algorithms, voice codec's, tone signaling and other DSP algorithms.
